My goal is to play college football, compete at the highest levels, and obtain an undergraduate degree with an emphasis in business.
As a quarterback, I have the ability to make any throw on the field and I do so fluidly with a fast release, high velocity, great accuracy, and consistency. I have worked very hard to develop the correct footwork relative to different routes and route combinations to consistently deliver the ball accurately and on time. In addition, I also believe that I have developed great vision and pocket movement with a very good ability to move while keeping my eyes down field. I believe that these skills along with my size and athleticism will translate very well at the college level.
I also believe that my character, genuine leadership abilities, and the significant adversity in football that I have already faced sets me apart from my competition. I lead by example with composure, integrity, commitment, and courage in the face of extreme adversity. My story of adversity is too long to detail in this personal statement. A big part of that adversity was the fact that I had to sit out 5 regular season games due to my transfer of schools and missed another due to injury. Ultimately, I started 9 games despite missing 6 regular season games. Moreover, it is not only my story, but my team’s story. We had a truly magical ending to our season despite extreme adversity that began well before the season started, played out in the news and social media, and culminated in a CIF Section Championship despite all odds. I believe that my character, leadership, and commitment played an important role in that story. I would love an opportunity to share it with you.
I have no doubt in my mind that I have the ability to play the quarterback position in college at a very high level. I know that my head coach (a former D1 head coach himself) and private quarterback coaches believe that as well. I am extremely coachable and am well respected by my coaches, teammates, and the St. Augustine community. I have faced and overcome challenges that I do not believe most of my competition has faced and I believe that those challenges have spurred growth in both by ability as a quarterback and my character as a leader.
The throw data was captured by Wilson Sporting Goods. Metrics were collected through a variety of drills during the Wilson QBX combines where players threw footballs using Wilson QBX tracking technology embedded in each ball.
