My name is Robert Greer and I am a 16 year old junior at Westview High School in San Diego, California. I am a two sport varsity athlete competing in football and lacrosse. I am currently 6'6" and weigh 225 pounds. For the 2018 season, I am a Team Captain for the football team, won All Conference honors, led the league in tackles with 119 tackles and was named to the San Diego Union Tribune All Academic team. I am training hard and am excited for the upcoming 2019 season and am confident in my growth potential as a student and athlete.
I maintain high academic expectations for myself. My cumulative high school GPA is 3.75 with a course load including AP Calculus, AP Chemistry and English. I have posted multiple 4.0 GPA quarters during my first three years in high school. I began playing league sports including football when I was 5 years old, and I have always felt a passion like no other for the sport of football.
My football positions are outside linebacker and defensive end on defense and tight end on offense. Height, size, quickness, aggression and precise technique are a few of my strongest attributes as a player. generate advantages for my team. I am a 4 down, full motor athlete with a knack for being around the ball and in the right spot ahead of others. I have led my team as a captain both Freshman and Sophomore years, and received the award for Defensive MVP both years.
I have participated in Westview High School’s invite only Golden Leaders meetings for the top athletes who have received leadership awards in our district. At the Golden Leaders meetings, we focused on improving ourselves, for the purpose of being a better leader and athlete on and off the field. My motivation to succeed in both academics and athletics has always pushed me to challenge myself and deliver high level results. I have received awards for maintaining honor roll through middle school, and high school. I plan to continue challenging myself with AP courses throughout high school, and achieving high grades in these courses.
I have 3 years of experience in Associated Student Body. The Associated Student Body class focuses on developing youth leaders, teaching public speaking, and innovation within our school that can correlate to real life situations in society. I volunteer in a leadership capacity at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ("FCA") chapter which meets at my school. Since I love working with younger children, I volunteer at my church as a counselor.
I pride myself on staying disciplined and in achieving my goals; whatever those may be. In order to do this I use a goal setting system known as S.M.A.R.T. Goals. S.M.A.R.T. Goals stands for specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable, and time based. I apply this system across my personal life, academics and athletics.
