My name is Michael Flanagan. I am 15 years old and, in a couple of weeks, I will be ending my Freshman year of high school at Mary Star of the Sea in San Pedro, California.
I am 6' 1" tall and weigh 265 pounds. I am a starter on Mary Star’s JV football team. Last season my position was offensive tackle. This season my position will be center. I will also be a JV Co-captain. I love to play football and I love everything about the game! I look forward to playing on a college team.
The following are some of my stats from last football season:
General Info:
Sport Stats:
I am a hard worker, on and off of the field. I work as directed by my coaches and am determined to exceed their expectations. I am told I am "coachable" and adults are always telling me I am a "great kid." I am also a very respectful athlete and student, with a good sense of humor. I am a leader who sets an example for others. I am grounded and make the right choices in all parts of my life. Good sportsmanship is also important to me. I will be an asset to any college football team.
It is early in my high school education to be set on particular colleges, but it is my dream to play college football. Presently, I am open to attend just about any college, large or small. I have not decided on a major, but I look forward to taking a lot of different classes to help me choose a career.
Mary Star is a College Prep high school. During my freshman year, I received a number of honors & achievements, which are: Blue & Gold Achievement, Science Recognition, Member of the National Beta Club for Outstanding Character & Achievement, Outstanding Christian Service Award, and Freshmen Representative at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Teen Conference (one of three freshmen selected by my Principal). I am a good representative of my school and will be the same for the college I attend.
I look forward to discussing the opportunities your college has to offer. Thank you for taking the time to review my personal statement.
