Nolan Smith '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nolan Smith and I am a 6'2, 230 lb. 2022 ILB/FB out of Scotts Valley, California. My cumulative grade point average is a 4.3, and I am the recipient of Defensive Player of the Year, 1st Team Inside Linebacker, and 1st Team Tight End for the Santa Cruz Coast League during my short 6 game COVID season as a Junior due to my versatility and physicality. As a sophomore on varsity, I used my versatility to play the various positions of inside and outside linebacker, tight end,  slot, full back, and I even put a second jersey over my pads to suit up at left tackle when injuries struck. This exposure to football's many trials and experience with different positions has shaped me into a player that strives to work hard and be overall the best man I can be off the field as well as on.

I am currently training and working with former New York Giants DB Reggie Stephens as a part of the Reggie Stephens Foundation, who has worked with a multitude of great football players to get to the next level, an example being the former Cal and USD running back that holds the all purpose yard and yards per game record at San Diego, Jonah Hodges. With as great of a coach as Reggie working me every week with D1 guys from SJSU, USD, and UTEP, I believe my speed development and ability to work with those already at the Division I level will make me a great addition to a roster in 2022, and I plan to put on a show my senior year.
