Hello,
My name is James and I am a senior this year. I love playing football. It has been a passion of mine for many years. Many people say that I am a "good" athlete but I believe that if you love a sport, work hard and play as a team anyone can be "good". I have played football, basketball, baseball and competed in track at the high school level. The summer of my sophomore year I was pulled up to Varsity for football and earned the Defensive Back of the Year award that season as a cornerback and All League Second Teams. While I enjoyed focusing on one position the coaches decided to utilize me as a utility player my Junior year and this year. I love it because I am rarely off the field which in turn gives me a lot of experience. While this makes it harder to be recognized for a particular position that is ok because it helps the team and I am playing different positions dependent on the play . My Sophomore year I took a break from basketball to focus on studies but still played baseball. I spot played Varsity baseball my Freshman and Sophomore year while on Junior Varsity and played full time on Varsity my Junior year and will again this year. While playing baseball my dedicated position is center field but have been called upon to pitch, play shortstop, second base and catcher. While I enjoy track and building my speed for football and baseball I am not sure I will compete this year.
Academically I am not a 4.0 student but I am good when I apply my self. Writing is definitely my downfall but math and applied art/physical classes I do well in. When I was younger I really excelled academically but I believe that had to do some with loving to compete against my twin brother (Trevor) who passed away in a motorcycle accident a couple years ago. My grades have been affected some by that and also the loss of my grandparents in the two years following Trevor's death.
I can not express how much I love playing football and really look forward to playing in college.
Thank you for your time,
James
