Hi , my name is Lawon Darion Carney, I am a junior in this 2012-2013 school year. I attend South Hills High School in West Covina, CA.

I’m writing by way of introduction as I’d like for you to know more about me, my sports background, my goals, and my personality.

I was born on August 7,1996 my parents are Terry and Melinda Carney.

I’m a very positive and humble individual, I also consider myself a God fearing young man. I’m the starting running back for South Hills high School in West Covina, CA. My jersey, formerly 24, This year my number was 1.

In the past two years I have trained very hard to perfect my game and attended various football Camps, such as Under Armour, Football University (invited to 2012 Top Gun All American Team) UCLA, and USC.

My NFL affiliations include Antoine Cason and Darren Sprolls, both have been instrumental in my grooming as a Running Back Grid Iron Elite performer at San Diego State University Football Camp 2010/2011.

I’m striving to receive a four year scholarship to play sports. My goals are to graduate University with a four year degree majoring in Business, with a minor in Sports Recreation.

My goal is to be drafted into the NFL.

I’m a player that listens to the coaches and I’ve been taught to be a team leader and team player. I believe in giving more than 100% effort towards my team, teammates, and coach(s).

I’m a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do martial arts. It has taught me discipline, self respect, and physical training. During the holiday and off season, I volunteer with my parents’ non-profit organization “Peace-N-Tha-Hood,” that helps troubled youth develop a positive lifestyle and self confidence.

When I was young I was taught to become a Bruin, watching UCLA games and highlights of NFL bound Maurice Jones Drew in the backfield; it was then that I just knew that I would do the same and become a UCLA Alumni.

When it comes to colleges I keep my options open, but I also have a preference list of dream colleges; UCLA being the first on my list! Followed by USC, Stanford, University of Oklahoma, Florida Gators, Oklahoma State University, University of Alabama, University of Oregon, LSU, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, University of Miami, University of Tennessee, FSU, and University of Texas. I am a hard worker and I take my academics and career skills very seriously. I believe in being a true role model for kids and those who look up to me. My goal is to first graduate from college and then, if given the opportunity, to become an NFL player; coaching an NFL or college team has also been an interest of mine. Probably, some of the most passionate things in my life are football and helping those that have like passions and desires. I would also like to be a spokesperson, for mens’ fitness magazines, Body Building.com, Muscle and Fitness, Sports International and ESPN.

My hobbies and interests include the art of music. I played guitar in my middle school band and continue to hone my acoustic skills through practice. I love R&B , Hip Hop, Classic Soul, Classic Reggae, and Jazz.
