Caleb Harner K/P – Personal Statement
I have been playing football since my freshman year of high school. I started as a soccer player in the fourth grade and discovered a new love and passion for football in middle school.
Since I began playing, my goal has been to play at the collegiate level. My priorities in choosing a school are first - to be a good fit, second - academics, and third - athletics.
My coaches describe me as calm and collected under pressure as well as very coachable and determined. I have been committed to putting in extra work both during the season and off season to improve my kicking skills and enhance my athletic abilities. I have shown consistent improvement over the past three seasons and continue to set new personal bests. I am not afraid of hard work.
In the classroom I maintain a high GPA and place great value on academic integrity. I am involved in my community through church.
I have two younger brothers and have grown into a natural leader. My hope is to attend a college in which I am challenged both on the field and in the classroom. Team as family and community are important to me and my ideal college would include both. My ultimate goal is to make my parents and coaches proud and become a valued role model and teammate.
