Football is my life. I say this for many reasons as football has helped me overcome many challenges I have encountered throughout my life. I grew up without my father, and raised by my mother, a single mom. My dad was incarcerated for the majority of my life and he went to prison when I was just a baby. This was hard in many aspects. In addition to this, I was diagnosed with Aspergers at the age of 6. This led to many different obstacles I had to overcome . Another part of my life I had to overcome was my weight. As a kid and growing up I was heavy. This led to bullying and depression. I started to lift due to being bullied. Lifting became my new obsession. I became confident and strong. I became determined to succeed. As a result, my weight started to maintain and improve. I have had many challenges to overcome and football has helped me lead a better and more fulfilling life. I have had to work harder than others and I am proud of my accomplishments.
I have played Varsity football since I was a freshman on the offensive and defensive line. I have demonstrated leadership on and off the field by encouraging my fellow linemen and all the other players to have an additional workout in the weight room after practice, every day. I have also demonstrated leadership by encouraging team-bonding activities, including social activities.
I have been named defensive player of the game on several occasions throughout the 2022 season. Additionally, I made All Conference with a season ending in 45 tackles at the defensive tackle position and also ten pancakes at the offensive tackle position. I have been named Team Captain for our Varsity High School Team. I am excited to play at the next level beyond High School.
Due to my challenges growing up, sometimes my academics suffered. However, have worked hard at maintaining a 3.0 and above GPA. I show excellence with the subjects of history, english, and music. I have also demonstrated leadership not only on the field, but also in the classroom and community by assisting with various events, by volunteering to work the concession stand at numerous school events. Over the past summers I have also worked as a lifeguard at our community recreational center.
I know if given the opportunity, I will be a great college football player. I have the determination and resiliency to overcome anything that is thrown my way.
