Matt Walsh '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a very hard working man that will work to earn everything I receive in life. It has always been my dream to play football in college and use my athletic ability to receive an education ending in a degree that will benefit me later in life. I worked very hard to reach my first high school football goal which was to start on varsity as a sophomore. I accomplished that goal and ended up being one of the top tacklers on my team and playing a major role as our strong side linebacker. I played Inside Linebacker and fullback during my junior season. Every year I get bigger, faster, stronger, and most importantly smarter because of my work ethic in the gym, on the field, and in the classroom. I am a motivated person, always setting long term and short term goals for myself such as winning a state championship, and earning All-State as a junior. I achieved my junior season goals by leading my team to a Class L CT State Championship, and earning the awards of Walter Camp All-CT Team Defense, CT High School Coaches Association ALL-State Class L team, All-SCC First Team Defense, New Haven Register All-State Team and All Area Team Defense. I am looking forward to continuing on making positive strides in my life, and have set goals for my senior season, such as leading my team as captain to their second consecutive state championship, being a role model on and off the field for my teammates, and earning All-American recognition. To play College football is my long term goal I am working to accomplish. Work hard, dream big, is the motto I live by!
