Playing varsity my sophmore year allowed me to learn from the upperclassmen and refine my skill set. I was fortunate enough to be led by a group of seniors who were essential to the team. This year I experienced a lot of growth and realized the amount of work necessary to play at the collegiate level - which I am looking forward to facing head-on. We were projected to win our division and go to the playoffs. We failed to meet that expectation and finished 2-7. This was the hardest part of my growth. Watching how the coaches and my teammates reacted to the close losses, ultimatley taught me the importance of grit, determination, hard work and the mental fortitude to never give up, no matter the obstacle. This past season gave me crushing defeat in several close games and incredible growth through overcoming those losses and pushing myself to be the best athlete I can be for my team. I learned from each defeat and it made me play harder and smarter in the next game.
I am looking for a college that will be a good fit not only athletically but also academically. I want to be part of a team that will re-enforce my good morals and character, and that will support me as I strive to maintain being an excellent student athlete and a role model in the community. I know I have what it takes to compete at the collegiate level and the work ethic to make an immediate impact on your team.
