Hello! My name is Josh Velez and I am passionate about playing football at the college level. Football has been more than a sport for me; it has been a platform where I have developed and demonstrated my leadership skills, both on and off the field. From a young age, I embraced leadership roles by organizing team events and volunteering in my community. These experiences have allowed me to cultivate a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to service. My leadership is not limited to football; it permeates every aspect of my life, driving me to inspire and support those around me. As a member of the English Honor Society, I was given the opportunity to write a short children's book and share it with students at the local elementary school. Another significant way that I've contributed is by serving as a Junior Coach volunteer for my local youth football program for the last 3 seasons. This role has allowed me to mentor young athletes, instill teamwork values, and share my love for the game, further solidifying my leadership and coaching skills.
Academically, I am dedicated to excellence. I consistently challenge myself with a rigorous curriculum, including honors and dual-enrollment courses, to ensure I am well-prepared for the demands of higher education. My academic achievements reflect my commitment to personal growth and my ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. One of my proudest moments came during my freshman year when, as a freshman, I contributed to my team's victory in winning our District championship as a Freshman on the Varsity team. This accomplishment underscores my ability to perform under pressure and my unwavering dedication to my team's success. I believe that my leadership skills, academic achievements, and passion for football make me a strong candidate for any college program. I am eager to bring my talents and dedication to a collegiate team, contributing to a collective goal and continuing to grow both as an athlete and a leader.
Thank you for considering me. I am excited about the possibility of contributing to the success of a college football program and furthering my academic and athletic journey.
Josh Velez
