My name is Tanner Coad. I am a sophomore at Admiral Farragut Academy and was the starting Center and Long Snapper on the Varsity football team this past season. Growing up, my mother and father always pushed me to try to be the best student, person, friend and player that I could be. With that, and my attendance at Admiral Farragut, I have learned many things, to include discipline and self-integrity. I am strong in my faith and have a good moral character.
I began playing tackle football my freshman year of high school and made the varsity team. I have always loved the game of football because I grew up in a passionate football house and I have always had a desire to follow in my father's footsteps and play college football. I have learned that football changes who you are in a very positive way. Before playing tackle football, I was struggling to find something that I was passionate in doing. Once on the field and being part of the team, a fire was sparked in me and has since motivated me to work harder both on and off of the field to achieve my goal of playing college football.
Over the course of the past two years, I have continued to grow as a leader and positive role model, something that has been noticed by my coaches. Football truly builds character and has made me more focused and driven to achieve my goals. My academic goal is to attend a great university and be the best asset to the school both on and off the field. I have characteristics and assets of being a leader, disciplined, intelligent, reliable, confident and am very coachable. I have only been long snapping for seven to eight months. I have a passion in being in this position and is something I work at getting better at every single day.
In my family, college is the next expected step in furthering my education and future. I would love to attend any college and be given the opportunity to also play football there, which is something that I love. It would be a blessing and an honor to work and play for any university at any level in order to achieve this goal and I believe that I would be an asset to both the school and its community.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Tanner Coad
