Dear Coaches,
My aspiration is to earn a starting role on a high level College football program.
I feel that I have some unique characteristics that will make me a solid selection to your program.
1) I know how to handle the intensity and planning required to succeed as a Student Athlete and pride myself in planning how to tackle everything I have to and want to do. I have participated 365 days a year in competitive sport throughout my Varsity career (Football, Wrestling, Baseball, Travel Baseball, Rugby, Track, Karate)...with no impact to grades or ability to participate in other extra curriculum activities at school. I pride myself in my planning. I have also done all of this while also achieving my Eagle Scout status ahead of schedule.
2) I am an extremely versatile Athlete that has repeatedly succeeded in new roles and positions. I played in over 90% of plays as Linebacker (Inside and Outside), Running Back, Punter, Kick/Punt Returner, and Special Teams gunner. In Baseball I pitched, caught (until Lefty became a liability!), played first base and all three outfield positions and batted across the order. In Rugby I have played both 15's and 7's in my first season and took on role as kicker as well.
3) I am a proven leader who knows what it takes to lead from the front. I was elected as Captain of Wrestling team as a Junior and will Captain our Football team in my Senior year. I have also had Leadership roles though-out my Scouting career. Lastly I have served 3 years on Student Council and have just been elected as Executive President (Head of School) for Holly Innocents for my Senior year.
4) I am a quick learner able to compete with more prepared teams/individuals. In Wrestling I have had to get into competitive Wrestling shape within 2 weeks of finishing football each year...and go against other wrestlers that wrestle year round. We run a complicated defensive scheme at school and a number of differences in the plays each week revolve around my ability to quickly learn them.
5) I love physical domination of my opponents whether it is blocking, running, tackling or wrestling.
6) I will do whatever I can to help my team win. My personal performance and participation comes 2nd to that. At HIES I try and get onto the scout team as a receiver when we give our depth some defensive reps to help make the team better.
7) I have the financial support to take on a preferred walk-on spot.
Thank you for giving me a chance. You will not regret it.
Nick
