My name is Andrew Dotson, and I am a student-athlete in my senior year at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. I have loved playing sports my entire life. Aside from satisfying my competitive nature and allowing me to challenge myself physically, sports have really helped me grow as a person. Over time, I have learned how to follow instructions and be a good teammate and leader, as well as how to win without being arrogant and handle defeat with honor.
I have played four sports during high school, including football (varsity, JV, 9th), soccer (varsity, JV), track & field (varsity), and basketball (9th). I am currently starting at cornerback and running back. In prior years, in addition to playing running back, cornerback and on special teams in varsity games, I carried the load at running back in Westminster’s JV and Freshman games.
I am an Honors/AP student with a 98.1/100 GPA (4.2) and an ACT composite score of 34. I have made Honor Roll every semester while in high school. My goals are to attend a great college or university and play football while pursuing my education. I have what it takes to achieve in football and in my classes. I am dedicated and I know how to study. I enjoy lifting weights and I train for football year round on the weekends. I am quick to understand strategy.
I would like to go to a college where football is appreciated and where the program will allow me to excel on the team and in the classroom. I am open to considering other football positions in college. I am interested in a number of different majors at this time, but whatever I choose I want to make an impact. I have integrity and a strong moral compass, and I am a leader. I believe that I would be an asset to your college program.
