I love the sport of football! I have been playing since I was 8 years old and have grown to truly appreciate all aspects of the game from the skills and techniques needed to succeed at a particular position, to the strategy and preparation behind play calling, use of formations and other important facets of the game. Not only have I focused on physically being the best player I can be, but I have also learned how to be a student of the game. I have been blessed to have great coaches along the way, including my parents, that taught me not only about the game of football, but also about the “game within the game”, or how paying attention to how the game is evolving from player rotations, coverages, or player tendencies can give you an incredible advantage. I have learned that working hard and preparing in all areas of the game is what makes me the best football player I can be.
Although I began to learn and understood the concepts previously stated as a youth player, it really clicked for me personally as a freshman at Boulder Creek High School in Arizona. That year I caught a team high 55 passes, with 8 touchdown receptions and was named “Offensive Player of the Year” and “MVP” by my teammates. I came to really appreciate how my commitment to the game as a whole resulted in the success I experienced. Additionally, I learned how attributable concepts such as communication, commitment and accountability are to the success of a team. Last year, I moved to Roswell, Georgia where I enrolled in school at Roswell High School, which for the past two years has been a state finalist and nationally ranked team in football. At no other time in my life were the skills I had learned put to the test as they were when I started school and entered the football program last spring at Roswell High School. Although I was nervous when I first stepped out on the field, I quickly realized my approach to the game would pay dividends as I had an incredible two weeks of practice and was named a starter for the spring game. Later that year I was named as a starter on the JV squad and given a Varsity roster spot.
Over the next two years, I have three general goals;
1. Become a 2-year starter at Roswell High School
2. Graduate as one of the top academic students in my class
3. If so blessed, create the opportunity to play football at the collegiate level
Overall, I would very much like the opportunity to extend my football playing career another 4 years in 2019. The right school for me is really one that would allow me to compete a player, as well as provide me an opportunity to get a great education. Additionally, I would like to play for a coaching staff that will not only help me become a better football player, but also a better man on and off the field. My coaches and parents have been the biggest influencers in my life and have shown me how the game football is an amazing platform to learn important life skills. My commitment to any of the coaches that I would have the very fortunate opportunity to discuss playing for, is that you will get a hard-working, committed and accomplished athlete that I feel will represent your program well on and off the field.
