My collegiate goals and aspirations include being part of a football family on a Division I football team. I’ve had this dream for as long as I can remember – from the first time I picked up a football and stepped onto the field with my friends.
Family and friends are most important to me next to sports. I grew up in a blended family of eight. I was second out of my parent’s six children. My older brother and I are always in competition from team sports at our local school, to scarfing food at the dinner table. My family has molded me into who I am today – a team player – one who knows the value of teamwork within a unit. They have taught me how to stand in the face of adversity, how to sacrifice my own personal desires when necessary, and how to move forward through it all. Without them, I wouldn’t have the love, desire, or the passion I have today for the sport of football. My friends deserve part of this accolade too – they have always been there – driving me to be better, encouraging me to not give up when things became difficult, and a listening ear for my hopes and dreams, never putting them down or attempting to snuff them out like I’ve seen with many of my peers.
I believe I would be a good candidate for any collegiate team because I am a hard worker who absolutely loves the sport of football. I am a leader who understands and values “team” as a large family having grown up in one. I know how to work together with others to achieve common goals. I know it’s less about me, and more about the strength of togetherness. My character is laid-back, yet determined. I love to live, eat, and breathe football with those around me. If I have a flaw in my character, it is that academics are not my strongest suit. Try as I might, studying things other than film does not come easy for me, but I surround myself with people whose strengths support me in areas where I may be weak.
In conclusion, I would like to thank those who have taken an interest in me, my talents, and my character. If you see potential in me, please give me a look – I won’t let you down. I hope to soon be a vital part of your football family!
