I am an incoming junior at Griffith High School in Griffith, Indiana. I love playing football for the Griffith Panthers, who won the state championship in 1997, and it would be the greatest honor if I am recruited to play college football. I am looking forward to playing at any collegiate level that can use my talents to create a winning and sustainable program while I further my education. I play cornerback, safety and running back, as well as special teams.
In 2012, I started on my junior varsity team at defensive back and my teammates voted me for the team's Most Improved Player award. I also got some experience on varsity as a sophomore. I expect to be one of the starting defensive backs on varsity in 2013, but I know I will have to earn that spot.
I improved my speed as a member of Griffith's varsity track team where I was a sprinter and relay team member this past season, having run 12.42 seconds in the 100-meter dash. I was recently timed at 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash (I'm sure I can improve upon that time) at Schuman's National Underclassman Showcase (South Chicago region) in May, where I earned a spot in the Top 100 regionally (see results for Evan Masters). Recently, I bench pressed 200 pounds, and I will only get bigger and stronger. I am also a wrestler, having compiled 9-2 record this past season.
This summer, I will attend a three-day position camp at the University of Notre Dame to further my defensive skills, and will compete in the 7-on-7 tournament at the University of Illinois with my Griffith teammates. I have a private coach who helps me with tackling, pass protection, coverages and foot work.
I understand how important grades are in the recruiting process, and have plans to enter the medical field. I am pursuing an honors diploma at Griffith and have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I hope that you are interested in recruiting me. I would be so thrilled to be a student-athlete at your school!
