My name is Aiden and I am a senior in high school at Cathedral in Indianapolis. Before coming to Cathedral I played soccer all my life as a keeper and intended to play football and soccer in high school. Although I was only a punter my freshman year of football, the experience I had was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute of practice and games even though I played very sparingly and spent more time working with the junior varsity soccer team for practices. Starting my sophomore year I decided to walk away from soccer and focus solely on football. I have worked myself into the linebacker position and also have played along the defensive line on the practice squad facing off against our first-string offense. We have won the past two (2) Indiana State class 5A championships and were ranked in the top 25 teams in the country in 2020. The experience of working against one of the top-level offenses in the country has been invaluable. I have also continued as the backup punter and with onside kickoffs when requested.
I have been lifting for several years privately and now at school and take great pride in the physical rigors that football has brought into my life. I have changed my diet habits, do not drink sodas, spend time on both cardio and strength training, and believe in well-rounded workouts to ensure maximum results with minimal wear and tear. I truly believe after all of these years I have found a true passion for a sport. I intend on focusing on the interior and outside linebacker positions but am willing, like last year, to be used where and when I am needed including as a DE, for extra points, onside kicks, or punter. Learning a whole new sport has been a challenge but is a welcome one.
I believe it is most important to communicate with all of my teammates to encourage and help each one of them in order to form a strong bond that will benefit everyone. Cathedral football is a family first and one that helps and encourages all levels of players. I am excited about working with the coaches and players this upcoming year as we move to the highest state classification and attempt to three-peat this fall.
I have been playing violin since I was five years old and have done my training at the Indiana University School of Music for that entire time. Just as in the sports I choose to pursue, I am a dedicated student of the violin through years of training and hope to continue my education in music for years to come. I am also a part-time casino dealer for a company that puts on casino parties and have worked there for three (3) years.
I am looking for a challenging academic college where I can also have the chance to play football. I look forward to speaking with you and learning what we can offer each other in 2023.
Thank you for viewing my profile,
Aiden
