Personal Statement

Hello, I am Phillip McFatridge. Currently I am in 9th grade, focused on my academic success and improving my football skills year-around. I started playing football when I was 8 years old.

I am a three-sport athlete, but my passion is playing football. I have been fortunate to work with highly skilled speed and agility trainers since I was 6 years old. In 2022, I began weight training at the high school gym. For the past two years, I have played 7 V 7 football for a travel team out of Lafayette, Indiana during winter and spring.

I am a starter on offense (wing-back), defense (FS/DB) and special teams on my high school varsity football team. I am the kicker for kick offs, field goals and extra points. In Junior High, I was asked to play various offensive and defensive positions in order to utilize my athleticism for the benefit of the team., including the quarterback position to add a run/pass option to our offense.

I am a very coachable player, a team leader, and dedicated to becoming the best I can be, academically and athletically. I always show appreciation for the contributions of my teammates and celebrate their successes. I value teamwork, character, commitment and leadership.

My academic goal is to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and college.

My goal is to attend a college that is a good fit academically, and athletically. It is important that I select the college that will position me to be successful in my career after receiving my degree.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
