Personal Statement
Hello Coaches,
My name is Sean Cook, and I'm in the class of 2023. I play quarterback/outside linebacker at a DODEA high school school at Camp Humphreys in South Korea. Being overseas, it's very hard getting exposure and being recruited to big time programs. I just wanted to reach out and introduce myself, before it's too late.
As a freshman I was one of three to make the varsity football team. It was a learning experience which sealed my decision to try football at the next level. My coaches and fans alike felt I made a major impact on the team both at quarterback and outside linebacker. Our team made it to the DODEA Far East Championship, but came short of 2 points from winning. My sophomore year was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic. My sophomore year I remained active by going to the gym and playing on the varsity basketball team where we won our Division Championship.
I am currently listed at 6'2" and 205 pounds. I work out daily to increase my strength and endurance. I've also been working on my football handling skills and have improved my accuracy and football IQ. I have a personal trainer who assists me with my strength and conditioning as well as nutrition. I'm on course to reach my goals of becoming stronger and faster.
Academically, I have a 3.85 GPA and have passed my first AP course with an A-. I was awarded the Blackhawk award presented to the most outstanding student in AP World History. I was also a recipient of the Principal's Honor Roll which was a goal of mine from the beginning of the school year. I've lettered in both academic and athletics.
I have a tremendous desire to attend college for both academics and athletic activities. Thank you for the opportunity to present myself and hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully,
Sean Cook
