Personal Statement
Hey, Coach!
I'm Martin, a 19-year old hungry boy from Denmark. Having played football since I was 10 it has always been a dream of mine to play on the soil where it originally started. As my dreams of playing high school ball got ruined by the pandemic, my goal was always to play college. This application is the first step towards that dream.
After having almost 600 yards and a total of 7 TDs since moving up to the mens team as a 17-year old (recording TDs on my first two grabs in an international game against Örebro Black Knights), winning "Rookie of the year", and being rewarded #1 play of the month on AFI's official account with a toe-tap TD... I think it's time. It's time to go for it all.
But football doesn't come without responsibilities. One of the biggest being school. Now that the pandemic came in the way of me going to high school in the States, I decided to finish it in Denmark. I scored 10.7 out of the highest grade being 12 which is beyond average (equivlaent to a 3.5 GPA) - this also showed as my friends would continuously call me out as being an over-achiever. It can be tough at times but I believe it's a part of my of responsibility- striving to be the best version of myself every day!
Firstly, thanks for reading till this point. Secondly, if you want a student-athlete that strives to be the best on and off the field, putting in work when no one sees, then you have the right guy right here. I hate letting people down and that's why i work - I don't want to let myself down.
