Personal Statement
To my future college,
My name is Advent Migi, I’m 15 years old and I'm from the island of American Samoa. As the youngest of 5, I was introduced to football at the age of 8, which at the time was due to the fact that my older brothers played football. Since then, I've played in many little league youth football programs and garnered many football accolades that led to many AYF championship titles. Having that much experience led me to playing high school football as an 8th grader for Fagaitua High School.
As a student at Fagaitua High School, on the field, I play both sides of the football, as a running back and linebacker I've helped our high school to a 3rd consecutive championship title as a true sophomore playing on the varsity level. Academically, I am maintaining a 3.5 gpa, and on schedule to being accepted into our high schools’ National Honor Society Chapter.
As a kid from the rock, I aspire to one day become a pilot. My father just retired from the military in February of this year, and both my older brothers are in the military as well. One can explain that I have a passion for football, and it has helped shape me into a reliable person on and off the field. Hopefully my talent, leadership, hard work, dedication and commitment can land me to the college of my dreams.
I believe that my commitment to excellence can be a great asset for any college willing to except me in to their football program. I look forward to majoring in some sort of engineering field, specifically aeronautics. As a possible student-athlete I believe that relationships are important, and paying attention to details is vital to success in everything. Hopefully, someday, I get few offers, but until then I am 5000 miles away from California in American Samoa grinding to meet expectations.
Sincerely,
Advent “Joka” Migi
