As a multi-sport athlete (baseball, basketball, football, track, and martial arts), I have learned teamwork and communication are important to succeeding. In junior high, I had to learn how to balance between playing 8-man and 11-man football in the same season, as well as adapting to multiple personalities. I am flexible and willing to step up and play positions that others didn’t want to or were uncomfortable with playing. This has taught me to put the team before myself and to be willing to step out of my comfort zone.
I have learned by playing sports how to work together as a team and individually. By participating in sports, I have had to work on balancing my grades and ensuring my academics were complete. I am challenging myself to improve my academic standing.
I also make time to help my school's new flag football program and volunteer at the local food pantry. I am always willing to assist our neighbors on projects around their farms. I plan to expand my community involvement throughout my high school career and beyond.
I pride myself on being an outgoing and caring person with a strong work ethic regardless of what I am doing. I pride myself on being better today than I was yesterday.
