My name is Ben Steffens, I am currently attending Spirit Lake High School in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
I kicked a little bit in my 7th grade year, with a desire in my heart to be a kicker but unfortunately a kicker specialist position wasn't available for me at that time. After that season, I decided to take 8th and 9th grade football off to reconsider my dreams; however, about half way through the football season of my Freshman year I decided, you know what kicking is where it is at for me. Although I did not officially partake in any games or whatnot during this Freshman season, I still went to each of the teams' practices and worked with the other kicker to get in the groove of the position and to get my technique ready to go for my Sophomore season. Since then I've continually worked on my kicking technique and worked more and more on keeping my Field Goal/PAT accuracy near 100% and getting my kickoffs to the end-zone.
Personally I believe I have extremely good work ethic, I aim to hit the weight room everyday. After school, if there is snow on the football field, I scoop a spot for me to kick, and I kick out there every other day. I have a great desire to compete at the collegiate level and major in some form of arts or engineering. Whether it be fine arts like drawing, or graphic computer design. For engineering I would be aiming for aerospace or civil. I have also been considering a bit into architecture. I would really love to find a college that gives me a good opportunity to succeed and continue to grow into the best version of myself.
