It’s 7pm on Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington, KY, 5A State Football Championship.  Owensboro is predicted to win.  I’m nervous, but I’m ready. for the challenge.  This is what we have prepared for all season.  Here we go, first play of the game…. ”Fant on the tackle”.  

My name is Davis Fant and I’ve been playing football since I was 5.  I currently play linebacker and long snapper for the Bowling Green High School Purples football family.  This season has taught me a number of things.  Most importantly, how one player can make a team strong, but it takes a team effort and great leadership to accomplish a goal in this sport.  My Purples football family proved that this season by winning the 5A Kentucky State Championship.  Walking on that field in Lexington at the University of Kentucky confirmed for me that I want to play football at the collegiate level.  Each day and every practice I push myself to be even better tomorrow.  With great upper classmen role models, a top notch coaching staff, and a consistent dedication to self-improvement, I fully expect to reach my goal of playing football in college.  God has blessed me with speed, size and agility and I intend to use those gifts to their fullest.  I am currently a Sophomore at Bowling Green High School and will graduate in 2023.  My GPA is 3.2 and my favorite classes are Math and Science.  One day I hope to attend medical school and work as an Emergency Room physician. When I’m not on the football field or lifting weights, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, fishing, and shooting some hoops. I also play baseball at third base and pitcher. I have a great family who appreciate my dream of playing football in college.  My parents and four sisters are my biggest fans as they support and help guide me through this awesome journey.
