A Little Bit About Me
My name is Devin Rayshawn Sealey, and I am a student athlete. I am in the 2023 Class and a sophomore at North Hardin High School in the city of Radcliff. Which is about 30 miles from Louisville Kentucky the home of the great Muhammad Ali.
My Family
I come from a great loving and supportive military family. I am the youngest of four siblings, I have one sister Aiyanna and two brothers Ryan and Anfernee. My Mother and Father both serve to support the great people of Kentucky and our Nation. My Mother Colandra serves as a Social Worker and works for the State of Kentucky. My Father David served 24 years in the Army and now works as an Army Civilian. After my father retired from the Army, we decided to make Vine Grove KY home. As a military child I feel I have been afforded the opportunity to travel and see the country. I have had the chance to experience meeting many people with different cultures and backgrounds both on and off the field. I feel this has also allowed me not to judge a book by its cover and the constant moving has allowed me to adjust and adapt to change.
What am I passionate about and what motivates me?
One thing that motivates me is the story my mother tells me about her brother Ray. She said while she was pregnant with me. my Uncle Ray would often tell her that I was destined for greatness. My Uncle Ray died at the age of 24, only four months before I was born. I never got a chance to meet him, but the memories and stories told to me by my mother motivates me to strive for success. He once told my mother that I was going to be special and that motivates me because he believed in me without even meeting me. I want honor him and is memory by make everyone that knew him proud. I am passionate about being successfully in whatever I do, and I refuse to settle for anything less.
Academic Goals
Currently I have a 3.5 GPA and my goal is to obtain a 4.0 before the end of the school year. Even though school is difficult at times I strive to continue to do my best. I look forward to attending college and majoring in Business and Marketing. I believe the best way to be successful is to own my own business and a degree in Business and Marketing will help me achieve my goal. During this up coming summer I plan on studying and taking the practice ACT test to see where I am at.
Athletic Goals
I feel that I am an all-around athlete and believe I can positively impact any team I am on, not just because of my athleticism but by my leadership and energy to drive others to get to the next level. My goal is to leave it on the field, win or loss I want to be able say that my teammates and I gave it all we had. My short-term goal is to win a state championship and my long-term goal is to go to a division one college like University of Oregon. Football is my passion, but I also like basketball and track, I feel University of Oregon is a good fit for me, but I am willing to adjust and attend any college that will allow me to help them get to the next level.
