Personal Statement

My name is Dylan LaVergne. I'm a sophomore going to be junior at Jennings High School in Louisiana. I Love to play the game of football. It was my goal as a freshman to make the varsity team and dress out on friday nights. well, I made that happen. I was one of two freshman to dress out with the varsity team. As I became a sophmore I had two seniors in front of me at the strong safety position. I got in the weight room and went to every practice and worked hard all the time. I was determined to start as a sophmore. I was not going to let anything stop me. The 1st week of the regular season came up and my name was on the 1st team depth chart. I had out worked two seniors for my starting position. Going into that season I was 5ft 9 inches and 160 pounds and ran a 4.6 40 yard dash. I did not win any all-district or anything like that. That does not bother me. It just gives me another goal to go after for my junior season. What I bring to my football team is intensity. I get the players fired up and ready to go. I am a very good team player. When our team is down I am the one to try and keep them positive. My dream is to go on and play for LSU. I have had many people try to knock that dream down by telling me it will not happen. I understand there is a good chance it will not happen but with the dedication, drive, and ambition I know I will work as hard as it takes to try my best to get there. If I don't make it there my hard work will not be for nothing. I will also be working hard for other colleges in the path of going to LSU. I love the high level of competion that the college level offers. I love EARNING my playing time or starting position. I play in 4A high school football and thats a very good competitive class. I want to play at the next level. I will do whatever it takes. I am open to any colleges. Big or small. I would love to go to a big college because i live in a small town. It would be amazing to try something new. I'm open for small colleges also.My major as of right now is to go into sports and medicine. If I dont make it to play college football or i get hurt I still want to be in the atmosphere of football. I would love to be a trainer at high school or college. I want to stay around athletes and I could tell them my experiences. As of right now my weight is 165 lbs. I am 5 foot 10 inches. My 40 yard dash time at school on grass is 4.53 and on turf is 4.78 at the under armour combine at the New Orleans Saints Practice Facility. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoy my profile.
