Personal Statement

My name is Alexandros Koulpasis, Alex for short. The Plaquemine High School head coach was scouting me as I played soccer for PHS. He pulled me off the team at the end of my junior year. I walked on the PHS football team as the starting kicker in the first game of the playoffs the 2011 season. I immediately fell in love with the adrenaline and excitement of being on a football team.  Its like no other. Being that its my first year playing football coaches and announcers say I have what it takes to get to the next level and I am thrilled and willing to do so. Its currently my goal to make my coaches proud, and to feel honored that I represent my high school and help to win a championship. My other goal is to make it to the college level, and then to the pro level. I'd like to be annouced in front of everyone on graduation day that I recieved a scholarship for playing football at a college. The colleges I am looking at are LSU, Nicholls, and South Eastern, McNeese, Tulane but I am still willing to see which colleges offer me a scholarship, at the same time I realize that I have only played for one year and hope that coaches can see my heart, dedication, willingness, and love for the sport of football.  I believe with the right coaching that I can take my talents to my coaches expectations and to the levels that I am reaching for.  On the flip side, I am a 4.0 student and I know that it is equally important that I represent my school that has high academic achievement expectations of me.  I know for a fact that I will make my college proud of this achievement and want to be a roll model for other athletes and students. I promise to give 1000 percent in whatever I set my goals to.  Thank You.

  • Alex was scouted from his football coaches as he was playing for the high school soccer team. They noticed his strong leg and begged him to play. This is his first year playing football. When the coaches asked him to kick a field goal for the first he was kicking off the grass approx 35-40 yards. He had taught himself to kick but still needed training to learn techniques that would improve his game. Taylor was drafted by the New Orlean saints in 2008. He spent 3 weeks with Alex for personal training to teach him what he could in three weeks. Taylor was offered a position with the Tenessee Volunteers where he now coaches kickers.
