I have been playing football for the greater part of my life as of now, about 8 years. In that time I have learned a great deal from the sport about character, effort, and dedication. Lessons of which I have applied to my life in order to better myself and my prospects. Football has taught me how to truly listen, how to be communicate effectively, and how to properly use information provided to me. In addition, football has taught me that there is much more to learn. That if I want to become a better player, learner, and person, I should keep playing, challenging myself, and expanding on what I know. The most effective way I can see myself doing that in my life is through playing this sport at higher and higher levels.
Off the field, I have been given the opportunity to be active in my community through the Boy Scouts of America and the EHS Student Council. I have learned to be a leader, to the extent that I have been given the responsibility of teaching others to become leaders. I have learned to excel in the classroom, to the degree that I have successfully passed college classes at a pace my peers consider frightening. I have learned to apply the different lessons that I have learned to the different parts of my life. I am an effective leader to my peers on or off the field.
