My name is Xavier Essex, and I am a senior at Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn, Maryland. I have been playing football since I was six years old looking forward to playing at the collegiate level. I work hard every day to improve both athletically and academically (OR ON AND OFF THE FIELD). My passion for constantly improving both on and off the field keeps me motivated. to continue working hard so I can contribute in the classroom and on the field. As a quarterback I know that my leadership is important to not only help and encourage my teammates but positively motivate myself as well. That way of thinking of pushing and challenging myself helps me in the classroom as well, I will be entering my senior year with 3 AP classes with a weighted GPA of 3.67.
This year the offense we plan to run is an air raid in spread with max protection, if the defense is being aggressive or not. It will be hurry up offense, pre-snap reads, and picking one particular man to read off. Due to the complex, changing schemes, my coach has confidence in my ability to signal plays and adjust on the field to anything I may see. As a dual-threat QB my athleticism will allow me to be mobile and elusive behind the line of scrimmage or having the ability to move the chains with my legs when necessary.
