Bozho (Hello),
I am currently a three-sport athlete playing football, basketball, and track. I know what hard work is and I am not afraid to put in the extra work necessary to achieve my goals. While I endeavor to remain humble, I also understand it is important for you to get to know me as an individual. What makes me a good candidate for any team is that I know what teamwork looks like and how to achieve it. I am a proud citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and have had the opportunity to represent my tribe and people on various platforms, including in 2023 at the North American Indigenous Games. I have also played on many teams for various sports programs and know how to build relationships with my peers for the advancement of the team. One thing my coaches have said about my work ethic is that I give 100% work 100% of the time, whether that is in practice or in a pickup game with some friends. I don't believe that I am better than everyone else, but that doesn't mean that I lack confidence, my goal each and every day is to be better than I was yesterday. After each game or meet I will go home and watch film on my own so that I can evaluate and critique myself. This helps me grow and learn how I can adjust to do things differently in the future.
Admittedly, I did struggle academically during my sophomore year, but I am now striving to take things seriously as I truly do understand the importance of my academics. I could sit here and make excuses and tell you about all the things I have had happen in life to cause set backs but life will keep lifing and I know I must keep moving forward and giving my all not only athletically but academically. During my freshmen and sophomore years, I did take a few college courses through Southwestern Michigan College and enjoyed the college experience. I look forward to what the future has in store for me and would be happy to accept any opportunity to answer any questions that you may have about my athletics, academics, or about myself as an individual.
Migwetth (Thank you),
Devin Rock
