Hello, thanks for checking out my profile.
What makes me different than other recruits? I might not have the best grades and exams just aren't my thing, but when it comes to athletics, I am relentless in my drive and work ethic to grow and develop my skills and abilities day in an day out. I don't look at it as competing with my peers at school, because as you may have already seen, we have had a lack of both talent and coaching for pretty much my entire sports career. I strive to compete with the athletes at the schools that do have these priceless resources. And honestly, I believe I accomplished this. In addition, my size at 6'5" and 247 lbs with expectation of being even 6'6" probably by the time you read this (per my family doctor my growth plates still have room), I have the athletic build and frame to be amazing with the right coaching and program resources that have not been at my disposal. And honestly, my best attributes are that I am a good person with ethical and moral values, I am coachable, and I work harder than any other person that I know.
In regards to football, between being triple teamed every game as I pass rushed the quarterback, teams shying away from running the ball my direction, and on the other side of the ball, leading my team down the field as they would continuously run behind me or the quarterback rolling the pocket my direction as he knew it would be protected proved my skills. Other teams (more athletically skilled teams) would put their best players on me and I would prevail.
In regards to hockey, have you ever met a goalie who can take the worst team in the conference versus the best team in the conference with multiple recent state championships and lead them into triple overtime with over 60 shots on goal? Have you ever met a goalie that would have been pretty close if not possibly #1 goalie in the State of Michigan (with very little defensive help) but because the coaches let the backup goalie play the "easy" games skewed his stats? Hello, my name is Austin, nice to meet you. When it comes to the ice, excuse my french, but I am the baddest MF out there.
In summary, thank you again for spending the time to read my story. I would love to discuss the opportunity to play at your program.
