Hello my name is Nathan Rivard and I am 16 years old. My passion for football began at a very young age when I was introduced to the sport by my gym teacher who was the varsity football coach at the time. As I became older, I stayed in contact with him and we started to train together. He pushed me to be a leader at everything that I am a part of and helped me to develop a strong work ethic. My last game of eighth grade football ended early for me when I was taken out due to an injury. Sitting on the sideline, I realized that I would bounce back and push myself to always compete at the highest level possible. I put in many hours of work that off season, and I ended up starting as a freshman on varsity.
My freshman season, I grew a lot as a student athlete. I learned about the importance of working as one unit and trusting in the guy next to me. That season, my team made it to our school’s first playoff game in twelve years, but we fell short and lost that game. This loss left a sour taste in my mouth and I learned that just because we accomplished one goal does not mean we can be satisfied.
I am looking for a college that will not only promote the team as a family and will help me grow as an athlete, but will also help me to succeed in the classroom. I will be a great addition to any roster because I know how much work it takes to succeed and how to lead a team to victory.
