My name is NeVen Simington, I am a junior OLB/DE/TE from Saginaw, Michigan. I'm currently 6'-4'' and 215 lbs with a reach of 95 inches. My football career started in 3rd grade where I played youth tackle football for the STYF league. I played four years in this league and then started playing for the Saginaw Public School District my seventh grade year. My first year as a freshman, I started on the varsity football team where I was fortunate enough to play multiple positions due to my size and ability. The positions I played were; OG, OT, TE, HB, DT, DE, and MLB. I earned Second Team ALL Conference Tight End. During my 2015 sophomore season, I played LB, DE, and TE, where I earned Second Team All Conference Linebacker. During my junior year season, I played LB, DE, and TE, where I earned All Conference Linebacker and All State Linebacker honors. Football is not only a passion, it has been a way of life. I incorporate football in the way I look at life, when situations are tough, I stand up and push through.
In addition to football, I also box with Garcia Saginaw Boxing Club and I'm a member of Saginaw High School track team. I have been boxing since I was 9 years old. I have won state championships, regional championships, and runner-up in the National championship. This last off-season, I have been training at Saginaw Athletic Club working on increasing my speed and agility.
Not only do I work hard on the field but I strive to be the best in the classroom as well. I have a 3.72 GPA and I'm 2nd in my class. In addition, I am involved with NOBEChE science team and compete in quiz bowls across the nation. I am also a member of Saginaw High Schools PTSA (Parent, Teacher, Student Association).
I am a determined, coachable, and intelligent athlete, with solid morals and values. These qualities will help me develop and assist a college program, not only on the field but off the field as well.
