Due to an injury I did not play my Junior year. I have since transferred schools and will now play at South Lyon East high school.
My name is Maguire Tate. I attend Detroit Catholic Central in Novi Michigan and I'm currently a Sophomore. I believe that Detroit Catholic central will not only prepare me with a strong academic foundation but afford me the ability to play football at a high level of competition. Since coming to Catholic Central, I have been a two- way starter as RB/LB. I have been selected captain, both Freshman/Sophomore years, by my peers and believe that the selection was due to my work ethic and leadership.
I have started every game upon joining Detroit Catholic Central football team. I have run 2,134 yards on 257 carries with an average of 8.3 yards per carry. I have also made 155 tackles on defense. The next two upcoming seasons will give me the opportunity to prove my skills. Our coaching staff is one of the best in the country and will provide the opportunity to showcase my talents and help our team to possibly win the Division 1 state title.
My short term goals, with the help of my family, coaching staff and athletic director, are to position myself academically and physically for the next level. The next two years will be very important in my development and I am working every day to achieve my goals. I have worked very hard academically and will use all resources to achieve a 3.4 GPA or better to pursue a college degree. I workout 6 days a week and three additional workouts at Barwis Methods to achieve greater strength, agility, and speed.
