Hello, my name is Cole Indihar. I am a Junior at Prior Lake High School in MN. I am 6’4” and weigh 305 lbs.
I grew up watching football, started playing in 2nd grade, and have enjoyed the sport ever since. For many years I have always been on the bigger side with my height and weight in comparison to my other team-mates. In both Elementary and Middle School, my team-mates looked up to me so it was important for me to always try to set a good example.
As High School approached and other kids were beginning to physically catch up, I told myself “I have to step up my game.” I continued to take all practices seriously, was disciplined, and excelled during games. In 9th grade, I was able to showcase my talent and ended up receiving the Defensive MVP award, which was a big achievement for me.
As I moved into 10th grade, I continued to work on both my physical and mental abilities. I was invited to attend varsity Camps which allowed me to continue to improve my skills. I was honored by the varsity head coach to be one of three sophomores who were selected to play on the varsity team. This was a huge accomplishment for me as it allowed me to play on both the junior varsity and varsity games. During the junior varsity games, I played offensive line and the varsity games I played defensive line.
I love the sport of football and it has taught me so many life lessons both on and off the field; the team bonds and friendships that are built with other players, respect for the coach’s leadership, all of the emotions that go along with winning and losing, sportsmanship, the grind of working out, and overall, about being responsible and a good person. Every time I step on the field, I always think I have to do my job of what I have been trained to do. My mindset is always a 0 – 0 mentality.
Football is an amazing sport and I dream of playing in college someday where I can continue to develop, grow, and utilize my talents to be part of a winning team.
