• While I've been always been the strongest player or close to it, what I most enjoy about football (and baseball, basketball, and wrestling) is the camaraderie/brotherhood, the common push. I had the strongest bench on varsity by the time I turned 16, but in my heart of hearts  I care more about the team aspect of playing, i.e., I'm happy to see those carrying or catching the ball make it further down the field because of my efforts even if they get the recognition. I think that's why I like the O line... and why I've become a better student of the game; studying footwork with former Viking Mike Harris; catching and agility work with former Gopher Rickie Foggie; and never, never missing a weight training session. While my strength is usually what draws attention to me, my team focus gets me friendship, creates loyalty from both the guys I train or play with and my coaches. This is what made me junior varsity and varsity captains in wrestling and football and MVP a few times... and I think it's what earned me a starting slot on the varsity O line more than anything else.
