Ja'Korian Newsome '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to attend a college that excels in academics and also has a phenomenal football program. I am readily preparing myself mentally and physically to beat all odds and play at the next level. I am a very determined athlete that takes into consideration all the coaching, advice, and strategies I have received throughout my athletic career. I consider myself to not only be an agile player but I am mentally sound when it comes to studying the field and adjusting where needed. I feel that these attributes will help to mold and shape me to walk into a promising future.  I became interested in the sport of football as a young child being able to study the field and the various positions I played, which helped me to develop into a well rounded athlete both physically and mentally. I have been influenced by the game of football throughout my entire life by watching my family play at both the high school and college levels.

Throughout my many years of playing sports, I feel that these opportunities have allowed me to gain a strong sense of leadership with my coaches and team. I have faced many challenges both on and off the field, and they have all helped me to develop leadership skills. I have helped to keep my team levelheaded during games, giving constant play reminders, and being supportive to persevere even through the most difficult games. The most unique characteristics that I possess, that has shaped my overall being as an athlete is my passion the game of football and the challenges that it presents. This has all helped me to be best athlete that I can be.
