I often hear the comment, "You look like a football player" in reference to my size, build, strength, long arms, and large hands. I certainly feel like a football player and believe I was born to play the game. My dad texts me every Friday before my game and tells me to be careful and play hard. I read through the lines and realize that he is really saying that no matter the circumstances, I should do my very best and that I should be an example of exemplary conduct, speech, and character. "Be a good example" is the resounding theme of my upbringing. As a pastor's kid, I learned very early how to interact with my peers and have respect myself and others. My family has high expectations of me and want me to fulfill my potential. I share their sentiments.
My parents have instilled in me the value of education in achieving life goals. My goal is to obtain a scholarship to play college football while receiving a quality education. I realize that this requires my commitment and focus. I have loved playing football since my pee wee days and I put forth my best effort to perform on and off the field. I maintain a challenging work out regiment and a healthy lifestyle throughout the year. While football is very important to me, I am also committed to being successful academically. I am interested in physical therapy as a profession. I also enjoy playing the drums and keyboard.
My ultimate goal is to play professional football. I am inspired by Al Jefferson of the NBA who is a native of Prentiss, MS, the late great Walter Peyton a native of Columbia, MS and the late great Steve McNair a native of Mt. Olive, MS (neighboring towns). My high school football coach is the brother of Steve McNair. There is greatness all around me which leads me to believe that my dreams are attainable. With God all things are possible.
