Personal Statement

Dear Coaches,

My name is Louie Eckelkamp and I am a RB/LB from St. Francis Borgia in Washington, Missouri.   I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to successfully combine academics and athletics in high school, and it has been my lifelong dream to do the same in college.  My current plans are to earn a degree in business with an eye towards law school after graduation.

High school football has taught me some very important life lessons, most notably patience and perseverance.  I have had the pleasure of playing for Coach Dale Gildehaus in a true high school football program at Borgia.  He has coached at our school for 32 years and I was proud to be a part of the team that handed him the game ball for his 250th win this year.  With a coach of that caliber, on a team with that tradition, you have to play with the understanding that you are a part of something bigger, that your time will come, and that the success of your team starts with your understanding that every teammate matters.

I love to learn, I love the game of football and I love to compete.  It is my sincere desire to continue to be able to do all three at the next level.  I work everyday to get Stronger, Faster and Better (SFB = St. Francis Borgia), and I work everyday to make my team Stronger, Faster and Better.

Thank you Coach for taking the time to look at my profile, and I hope that we can continue this conversation.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
