Personal Statement

Hello, I'm Jay Mattox and I am currently the kicker for Las Vegas High School.  I played soccer since I was four years old but at the end of my freshman year, I decided to try kicking. During summer training, I realized that kicking is what I wanted to do through high school, college, and hopefully, at the professional level.  During my first year of football, as a sophmore, I was chosen to be the varsity kicker. I am very dedicated to my sport. During the off-season, I train consistently to improve my strength and technique. The type of college I would like to attend is one with a solid football program where I can also obtain a good education. I am currently enrolled in college prepatory classes but have not decided on a major.
Accomplishments: United States Air Force All-American Sophomore Kicker (1st team), All-Sunrise Conference Kicker (1st team).  Our team was the  Northeast Region Champions and Second Place in the Sunrise Division.
Field Goals: 10/13, with a long of 51 yards
Punting: I did not punt very much last year, but I am expected to punt next year
Touchbacks:  I am currently 75% for  touchbacks
Height:6'0"
Weight:175

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
