After breaking my thumb in the first game my Freshman year I thought my season was over. The Doctor made a brace for it but said I could not play. I asked if there was anything I could do to get back out on the field and he told me that he could put a cast on it so that is what we did! The cast limited how much I could do on offense but it allowed me to stay on the field and help my teammates on defense. Although it was not the season I imagined I did learn how to deal with adversity and show my resilience. I worked hard and got the opportunity to start on Varsity my Sophomore year as a Wide Receiver/Tight End. Many obstacles have been placed in front of me and continue to be, including my 11 x 11 season being cancelled this fall due to Covid19, but I will continue to find ways to go through, get around or climb over them!
My goal for many years has been to play football at the next level in college and to become a high performing student athlete. Playing basketball and baseball are fun for me and keep me in shape but I love playing football. I have been lucky enough to have grown to 6'5" but I do not rest on my size I use it to help me reach my goal. We have been limited from an organized team basis since March but i have continued to find ways with my teammates to build my strength and skillset in the gym and on the field. My motivation is from within and has only gotten stronger as challenges have been placed in front of me.
