CJ Stevens '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is CJ Stevens and I am a member of Bridgewater Raritan High School’s class of 2023. I have been playing football since I joined Bridgewater’s Pop Warner program in first grade. I played many sports throughout my youth, including basketball, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse. Even after playing these other sports, I realized my deep and profound love for the game of football. In all my years of football, coaches have played me at many different positions on both offense and defense. This led me to be a versatile player and strategic thinker on the field. With this experience, I gained an overall knowledge of football principles and the varying positions. My diversity also taught me how to be a leader on the field by relating to all the positions and teammates who played them. I have always strived to put the team first, and always try to lead by words and action on and off the field. Others see my dedication and passion for the team and football overall.  As a result, both my peers and coaches named me as the Captain of the Freshman team in 2019 and also of the Varsity team in 2021.

With my versatility, I’ve come to believe that every day you should try to make yourself a better person.  I live this on the field, in the classroom, and at my part-time job.  In the classroom I am a very interactive student always trying to learn more about the topic we are studying. Although remote learning through Covid was challenging, I have a 3.12/4.0  GPA, and was named honor roll the last three marking periods and plan to finish out the year strong just as I would on the football field.
