Melvin Moore '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Melvin Moore and I attend Northern Burlington County Regional High School in Columbus, NJ. During the past four years I have been a starting member of the football team. The positions I play are slot receiver, kick returner, safety and wing back. Currently, I am 5'9", weight 165 pounds and run the 40-yard dash in the low to mid 4.4 with my personal best being 4.39. I consistently average between 4.1 and 4.3 in the standard shuttle. My personal accomplishments include First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-League, Most Improved Player and being named Gordon-Masters Scholar Athlete for 2011. My 4-years' experience playing football has helped me to become a true team player. I know I will bring a great work ethic and attitude to whichever college/university program I join. I am open-minded and ready to learn at the next level. My willingness and ability to listen and follow directions makes me very coachable. I also realize that no matter what the coach's teach me, I also must take responsibility, and do my part by doing whatever it takes to be the best player and teammate I can be. I am a military dependent, my mother served over 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, so I have lived all over the world and appreciate all people and cultures. I have learned to be a team player not only by being part of a team but by watching my mother and father in their roles as servicemen. I believe I would be a great asset to any college/university team because of my positive and accepting attitude and my drive to win and be the best. My academic goals are to continue to excel as I have done at the high school level. I hope to one day become a video-game engineer, so I want to study computer software programming. My football goals are to find a college/university program who will appreciate and cultivate my talents and utilize me in a way that best helps me and the program.
