Personal Statement

You’re going to want to read this!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile, now let’s get the obvious out of the way. I’m sure you’ve heard the old adage “Never judge a book by it’s cover” well, I’m that book! When you look at me or read my measurements all you see is the cover and absolutely not the pages and chapters inside. From the moment I strapped up my first helmet and pads at the age of 5 and continued every year since, I have always been the smallest. I often get overlooked for positions and or playing time because of this, I have never had the luxury of “he’s a big kid so he must be good”. Here is what’s inside my book and a peak at what you and your program will get with me, chapter one, BATTLE! I have always fought for every second of playing time and the right to earn the respect of all my coaches. I can’t afford to take a day off, a play off, or a second off, if I do it could be the difference of me starting or not. I battle to be a starter, always! That leads me to chapter 2, DEDICATION! My level of commitment, dedication, and coachability is hands down on the elite level. It doesn’t matter if it’s practice, watching film, motivating teammates, game day, or just life in general, I am always fully committed and dedicated to everything I do. Now chapter 3, CHARACTER! You will never have to worry about off field antics that would bring a bad light to you, your program or the school. I am a good genuine person and strongly believe in always doing the right thing. Chapter 4, EDUCATION! I fully understand playing football at the NFL level is a huge stretch. Ultimately that is my overall goal (refer to chapters 1-3) but education is huge for my future. The field of Computer Science is what interests me and I will be pursuing this in college. The next chapter, chapter 5, well that title is up to you. Do you want to be part of a best seller, history in the making kind of story? Take the chance, I guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed.

An additional side note, I’m a COVID kid. The pandemic hit the summer going into my Freshman year. Our state shut down all sports and our program did not play in 2020. In 2021, I made the JV team and we only played 3 games, again, our state shut down sports. Finally in 2022, we had a full season. I made the starting roster for JV and floated to Varsity as second string. I mention this for 2 reasons, 1, New Mexico is already hard enough to get any recognition and shutting down for two years absolutely didn’t help. And 2, refer to chapters 1 and 2 above. I played lights out my Junior year (basically first year playing high school football) and now my Senior year starting Varsity. There is “cocky” and there is “confident”. I am “CONFIDENT” in my talent and skills, I guarantee you I would make an excellent addition to your program.

I greatly appreciate your time reading my bio, and anxiously await your offer.

Sincerely,

Bryan Zajac
