Maalik Thomas '19 Recruiting Profile

Before joining the Finney-Northstar football team my sophomore year, I had no football experience. Despite having no previous experience, I managed to lead my team defensively. I served as team captain during my junior year and led my team offensively.  My first time stepping onto the field, I fell in love with the game.  My very first time running the ball against Waterloo High School, down the sideline, one-on-one with a defensive back, I lowered my shoulder into him, and knocked him on his back. I believe my lack of experience makes my accomplishments more remarkable.

I am a respectful student athlete who has many leadership skills. I am very coachable and always ready to learn more about the game. I am eager to get better not only as a player, but as a young man. I have been focusing on becoming a stronger student athlete and leader. I am consistently getting stronger not only physically, but also mentally so I can excel at the next level and most importantly, in life.
