Matthew Padgett '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matt Padgett I am a senior this year at West Carteret. I am 6'1" tall and weigh 210 pounds and my fastest 40 was a 4.48 but i usually run anywhere between 4.5 and 4.7. I started at outside linebacker my sophomore year on the varsity team and had 35 tackles. My junior year I played the same position and some tight end and I led the team in tackles with a total of 75. I received all-conference honors this year and most outsanding defensive player award. I love playing football, I love everything about it. My dream is to play football at the highest level possible. I give the coaches total respect and I have never backtalked or mouthed off or anything like that. I always do what the coaches ask me to do and I do it to the best of my ability. I am very coachable, I always go 100 percent, I never give up on anything, my coaches say I have a great work ethic. My stats in the weightroom are: bench: 295 with my coach, squat: 430 with my coach, powerclean: 285 with my coach and my strength coach does not like deadlift so we do not do it. I am a very strong christian and have always gone to church. The colleges I would like to play for are East Carolina, NC State, and Appalachian State but anyone interested in me I will be interested in. I preferebly want to stay in-state and play in North Carolina. I have a 3.6 gpa. I am not sure what I am going to major in yet, probably something with business.
