My name is Matthew Long, and I am a Senior at Person High School. My goal for college, and my collegiate career, is to thoroughly enjoy the college experience, to further my education, and to further my football career. I consider myself to be a great candidate for any collegiate team. I know that to get anything in life you have to work hard, and to persevere whatever that goal is. To me, academics come first so I can further my education to help me later on in life. I work hard not only to make myself better, but everyone else around me better, including teammates and friends. I will work my hardest to be at the top of my game, whether it's academically, or on the field. I'm a leader, I strive to set an example for my team, and my friends.
I am different from other recruits, by my initiative in the classroom, by the way I carry myself, and how I play on the field. Like I said, academics come first for me. The way you carry yourself tells a lot about who you are as a person, so I strive to be humble, to be kind and to help people when needed, and to be disciplined when need be.
Thank you coaches for taking the time to read my personal statement, I do appreciate it. Let me know what it takes for me to become apart of your team!
Thank you,
Matthew Long (C,LB,LS)
Senior, Person High School
