Dillon Stanfield '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Dillon Stanfield and I attend McNicholas High School which is located on the east side of Cincinnati. I am 5'8" and weigh 155 lbs. My dream is to play college football. Freshman year I played football, basketball, high school baseball, and club baseball. After my sophomore season, I realized that I have a true passion for football and football only. After freshman year I dropped basketball and club baseball to devote my time to football. The reason I love football is because I turn into a whole new person when I step on the field. I am usually a reserved and rather quite person but on the field I am fearless and feel unstoppable. My best characteristics on the football field are quickness, vision, and leadership. I am not the biggest person so I use my quickness to make up for that. I am very good at making people miss and this makes me capable of producing big plays that can ultimately make an impact on the game. Making people miss all starts with good vision. I am able to see a hole that is about to open on the left side of the field while I am running right and my quickness and acceleration allows me to get through that hole. Finally, I am a physical and vocal leader on the field. I know the plays very well and can tell people where they need to be. I always try to keep the team positive as well. If one person starts to get down, it turns into a virus so I always keep my head up. During my sophomore year, I broke three school records for punt returns for touchdowns in a season (3), punt returns for touchdowns in one game (2), and yards per punt return (20.3). I was named Tristatefootball.com Player of the Week and I received honorable mention for kick returner on the All Tristatefootball.com Postseason Team. My academics also say a lot about who I am. I have maintained an average between a 97 and a 100 throughout my three years of high school. I get involved in as many clubs as I can so that I can help others as well as myself. I have not made my mind on a college major up to this point. I am getting involved in the recruiting process because I know that I can have an influence on a college football team as well as a college campus. I do not have a preference on the location of colleges because the college that is right for me might not be in my local area. I would love to play at the highest level possible but I am open to offers from all divisions. My goal is to find a college that has great academics as well as a great football program. I hope that recruits look beyond my size and realize that I have true talent and true potential. Thank you.
