My name is Derek Vacha. My hometown is Columbus Ohio. This year i will be attending Cabrillo College in Aptos CA, a JUCO school and will be eligible for NCAA play at the end of the academic year. In high school I started Varsity my first year and attained all district honors. I have been a place kicker, and kickoff specialist for five years, and a punter for one. I am a very dedicated athlete that hasn't quite gotten noticed yet. I red shirted at Notre Dame College a NCAA Division 2 school in South Euclid, Ohio. The school proved too expensive even with a football scholarship and I had to leave. Since transferring, I have played on a club team called the Columbus Gladiators, and went to Europe for Team USA for the Inaugural Euro American Challenge as the youngest player on the team at 19 years old. The event drew 40,000 spectators and we competed against Team Europe. The result was 34-7 USA Victory.I am extremely coachable and can play in any special teams system. I believe I have the skills to compete at a very high level I just need a football program to bring my dedication, skills, and leadership to.
SPECIAL TEAMS IDEOLOGY (Very flexible to programs with different special teams systems.) :
Kickoffs
Get the ball behind the five and in front of -3 yards deep with a 3.75-4.1 hang time to the left, middle, and right to allow my kickoff team to get to the returner before they reach the 20.
Field Goals
100% 40 yards and in
I want the ball in big situations and have the confidence and skill to be comfortable in the highest pressure of kicks.
